Tasting Notes

Jolting through the winter slush with promises of springtime, Strawberry Rhubarb Cat Fiend hard tea blooms with scents of strawberry jam and woodsy honey. Strawberry juice and hibiscus flowers not only contribute a vibrant pink ruby color but also a sweet kiss of sugary sinfulness countered with an acidic berry tang. A blend of whole leaf black and oolong tea offers floral and smooth tea notes and a natural caffeinated kick. 

Secret Teas

Of course we are going to use a fancy ass blend of teas:

Yunnan Black is the base black tea providing raisin and honey notes. Yunnan tea lacks the strong astringency of brisker black teas, instead emitting maly aromas and a smooth flavor.

Jade Oolong is lightly oxidized and medium roasted. This oolong tea is a bridge between black tea and green tea. Light golden in color, it provides a roasted sweetness and woodsy aroma.

Hibiscus Flowers provide the vibrant ruby color along with a tartness and a slight berry aroma. As a botanical tea, it adds no caffeine to the tea blend

How did we come up with this blend of tea? We drink a lot of tea.
